Different Types of Laboratory Test Chambers

--

Laboratory test chambers are used to create custom environment settings for testing purposes. They help test the reaction of test matter against humidity, heat, temperature shock etc. Maintaining a specific environment ensure uniformity of test results to study impact of physical change in test matters. These kind of tests help in developing better and durable products with longer life span with increased efficiency. The research world needs custom solutions for their tests and for that there are many type of test chambers available. We are here listing some of them below.

Temperature Humidity Test Chamber

As the name suggest, these test chambers are used for testing under-development products for extreme conditions such as high temperature and humidity. These chambers test the performance limits of the products and help understand the technical requirements for enhancements to create a better product. Temperature Humidity chambers have application in almost every industry. Be it an item as small as a needle or super complicated fighter planes. Even for manufacturing the laptop from where this article is being written. Parts of this laptop have been tested for their endurance under extreme environment.

Thermal Shock Chambers

Thermal shock chambers are used to produce test results pertaining to a material’s capability to withstand different level of climate/environmental changes between high and low temperature changes within a short span of time. The primary use of thermal test chambers is to help understand the physical changes in the structure of the material by expansion of material due to high heat and contraction due to low temperature settings. Thermal shock chambers are used for testing of metal, rubber, plastic, electronics, pharma and other materials for special purposes.

Salt Spray Chambers

Salt Spray Chambers are equipment’s that are popularly used for corrosion method, used to check to corrosion resistance of materials and surface coatings. The materials to be tested in the chambers are usually metallic and are finished with a surface coating to further provide a degree of corrosion protection to the underlying metal. Not only this, salt spray chambers are also incorporated with the function to refill the water automatically whenever the water level is insufficient or not up to the mark.

Plant Growth Chamber

Plant growth chambers are used to simulate and create best possible situations to facilitate plant and insect growth. This is achieved by controlling temperature and humidity levels. These are also known as environmental chambers, seed germination chambers, day night chamber, insect growth chamber, tissue culture chamber. These are built as a reach model, which looks similar to a refrigerator with a clear door to for viewing internal growth and then there is another which is like a small room where in the researcher can walk into the chamber and check all specimens individually.

Mortuary Chamber | Dead Body Freezer

As the name suggests, mortuary chambers are used for storing dead bodies to prolong the decay process or prevent decomposition. Mortuary cabinets have a wide application and are used in hospitals, airports, research centers and many other agencies that may have a requirement to preserve a human body before being used in research or transported to destination. These are commonly used in Hospitals, medical institutions, airports, railway stations, research centers.

Lyophilizer Freeze Dryer

Lyophilizer or freeze dryers as they are commonly known are used for complete moisture removal from biological, organic and other samples. Moisture removal help in increasing the use-by date. Thereby, helps in ensuring that product can be used long after their expected expiration date. Freeze Drying is the process of moisture removal while maintaining the integrity of a biological product and its chemical structure and activities.
